About me and the blog
Hi, my name is Ralitza and I am a musician. Initially, I was trained as a classical flautist but due to a music therapy training I started experimenting with improvisation and, to some degree, composition. Beside music, I'm very passionate about cross-art projects and all the art forms in general. One of the latest endeavors I am being involved in is the "Music-Evoked Stories" - a series of short videos exploring the human associations to music. More detailed information about me you can find on my personal website.
So why make a blog solely about women artists? The answer is quite simple - because female creators are still underrepresented in the art world all around the globe. The decision to focus on women did not come overnight because I worship diversity and objectivity (as much my unconscious allows, that is). But while I am in love with the work of so many amazing men, I cannot help feeling it is unfair that female creativity and sensibility are often regarded as secondary, hence of a lesser value. So here comes a place to help balance this misconception.
Articles are published twice a month on this website (see bottom of home page), while examples of female artists' works are posted once a week on the blog's Facebook page (for more information click here).
